A atuação do Serviço Nacional de Informação (SNI) na Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB): a vigilância sobre os dirigentes universitários (1976-1985)

Abstract

With the civil-military coup, one of the first measures to institutionalize the new government was the creation of the National Information Service (SNI). This mentioned agency was formally created by Decree-Law N. 4,341, dated June 13, 1964. In 1970, the military government, in order to improve the information system, established the National Information System (SISNI). It was integrated by the National Information Service (SNI), the Sector Information Systems of the Civil Ministries, the Sector Information Systems of the Military Ministries, the Subsystem of Military Strategic Information (SUSIEM) and by others sector agencies. What the National Information System (SISNI) understood as "Other Sector Information Agencies" was related to information advisory bodies located in important spheres of public administration or in state enterprises. This paper analyzes the production of information made or disseminated by the National Information Service (SNI) concerning members of the academic community of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), with emphasis on university leaders.
