Entre ficção e história: Isabel, a rainha santa de Portugal

Abstract

Granddaughter of the great king James I of Aragon, daughter of prince Pedro III, wife of D. Dinis, king of Portugal, surnamed farmer and troubadour, canonized by the catholic queen, Isabel of Aragon has, besides numerous studies of historical and hagiographical, some novels about his life of saintly queen and peacemaker. Taking into consideration that the contemporary figures and continues to seek medieval myths, the contemporary historical novel promotes resumption of texts written over several periods, rebuilding and re-reading the past. It is intended, to study and show, the two versions of historical novels that take up this theme of the Middle Ages: Isabel de Aragão, rainha santa (2011), by Vitorino Nemesio, and by António Cândido Franco, Os pecados da rainha Santa Isabel (2010), taking over the profile and history of this queen, who among others has made continuing the works in the Santa Clara Convent in Coimbra, although confront some religious orders portugueses.
