Abstract

As a consequence of the 1964 military coup d’état in Brazil, a repression and censorship regime was established, affecting forms of artistic manifestation in which the artist’s body becomes gigantic and public. Such is the case with the happenings, in visual arts, and in shows, in respect to popular music. By analyzing the interview genre, in which one expects the artist to be sincere, the author analyzes the rhetoric sources the artist uses to give a sound, subversive and personal advice, that might be transmitted or listened to.
