Abstract

Abstract: In the following text, we say that the character Giosué, in the movie “Life is beautiful”, tells the story of his family, refreshing his childish perception. Refresh here means to go back to his childhood and bring it next to himself and to spectators, as a remembrance, from a narrative perspective that enhances the memory and its choices. This narrative strategy shows the development experience that the character Guido – the father – wanted to pass on to Giosué: the delicate task of not lying to his son and not achieving, as he wished, to hide from the boy the tough reality they find themselves trapped in. That is the dramatical and lyrical experience the film presents us.
