The fantastic and humor in religiosity: a reading of the novel A Cabeça do Santo, by Socorro Acioli

Abstract

The literary work A cabeça do santo presents a narrative in which it is possible to establish the presence of the fantastic. Still, through the path of laughter, the author deconstructs the subject of religiosity and social issues such as political corruption, removing the dramatic tone common to them. From the perspective of Bakhtin, Bergson, Todorov, Câmara Cascudo, among others, we presente a possible interpretation of the work emphasizing the themes of fantastic and humor..
