A CONSTRUÇÃO DE UM MODELO HIGIÊNICO DE EDUCAÇÃO ESCOLAR NA INSTRUÇÃO PÚBLICA DA PARAHYBA DO NORTE (1849-1884)

Abstract

The paper aims to identify some precepts medical hygienists present in the construction of a model school in public education in the province of North Parahyba, between the years 1849 to 1884. Based on the reports of provincial presidents, directors of public instruction, newspapers, laws and regulations, discussed the concerns of the presence of a medical school process in the province. Some of these precepts are recurrent in the legislation as: the need to own buildings for students who were taught in the homes of teachers, concern about the cleanliness and clothing, vaccination, hygiene at school, ventilation of rooms, among others. These practices were being incorporated into everyday instructional and who came to be thought of, discussed and absorbed initially in the nineteenth century and in the twentieth, become part of the school universe.
