The role of emotions in Baruch Spinoza's Ethics

The text corresponds to an essayistic analysis of the role of emotions in Baruch Spinoza's Ethics. Although we address Ethics in its entirety, we put emphasis on part III The origin and nature of affections. Our objective is to show Spinoza's contributions to the understanding of human nature in relation to the ways and means we have to access knowledge. Rationalism, especially Cartesian, understands that the only way to access the truth is the reason; Spinoza does not accept this idea and argues that the body and emotions are participants in the capture and creation of knowledge.
