- Ecofeminism(s) and Territorialities: Overviews on Spaces, Bodies, and Subjectivities in Literature Coined in 1970s by French theoretician Françoise d’Eaubonne, the term ecofeminism is steadily becoming consolidated as a fundamental critical and theoretical field towards the understanding of the relations between gender, power and nature from an interdisciplinary perspective. “The nature of home”, as claims Greta Gaard (2017), is one of the founding questions of ecofeminism. Thus, the home here acquires varied dimensions.: the planet, the domesticspace inhabited (sometimesimposed), the bodyitself. In thissense, as we understand territoriality – following Marcos Aurélio Saquet – as “[...] daily relationships, momentaryones,thatmen[readithumanbeings]keepamongthemselves,withtheir inner nature, as well as with inorganic nature in order to survive biologically and socially” (2007, p.129),it comesto thefore the waysin whichthe interactionswith such houses have been thought and represented in the literary universes, departing from gender as well as other intersectionalities such as race/ethnicity, class, sexualities, etc. Thisdossier, therefore,aimsatgatheringresearchthatenquire,within theliteraryand critical field, the multiple territorial configurations. It interests us especially, the analyses of literary texts – preferably fromwomen’s authorship and with women protagonists or otherminorities,indiferentegenres,periodintimeandculturalcontexts–that problematize the notion of space and the acting of human beings in it; Afro-Brazilian and Indigenousexperienceintheirrelationshipwiththebody,theEarthandnature;the transcorporealityamonghumanandmore-than-humanaswellastheirmaterialityand agency(Alaimo2017);careandconfigurationsofthebodies;eatinghabits;spiritual dimensions in communion with the body and the Earth, among other possible strands. We welcomecontributionsthatdealwith“existentialterritoriesofsubjectivity”following FelixGuattari(1990),andindialoguewiththeecofeministperspective,“[...]bethey concerningtheinnerwaysofbeing,ofthebody,oftheenvironmentorofthegreatest contextual groupsrelatingtoethnicity, nationorevento therightsof humanity”(Guattari, 1990, p.38). Weinvitescholarstosubmit theirworkthatpromoteinterdisciplinarydialoguesinthe field of ecofeminism and focus on literary analyses that articulate gender, territoriality and materiality ofhumanand more-than-human,reasserting literatureas astrategic fieldof reflection facing the urgente calls of the present.
