IMAGES OF WOMEN AND GENDER AGENDA IN THE FINAL STRETCH OF THE CAMPAIGN OF THE FIRST WOMAN PRESIDENT OF BRAZIL
Abstract
The election took place in Brazil in 2010 brought the first election of a woman to the highest office of the Executive: the Presidency. The second round was the high point of the campaign in relation to the intensification of the dispute between a man (José Serra) and a woman (Dilma Rousseff) for the post. In this period, the HGPE Dilma reinforced gender marking and exalted women, alongside men, build the country’s policy and the policy of maternal presence, concepts worked by Miguel (2001) and Phillips (2001), were important to understand the progress of the campaign and how the issue of gender and of “equal opportunities” permeated the political discourse of Dilma Rousseff during the election.Downloads
