In this article, we present the trajectories of two Mozambican intellectuals, namely: Ana Loforte (anthropologist) and Isabel Casimiro (sociologist). Based on these trajectories, we seek to analyse their contributions to the construction of the field of studies and gender equality in Mozambique. The objective is to understand the influences that their trajectories had in the epistemic and political scope of the constitution of the field, together with social movements and in the construction of public policies for women. It is an interdisciplinary work, whose methodology supports itself on interviews carried out with these protagonists, archival research and based on literature (historical, anthropological and sociological) produced by and about them. The text offers a historical overview and makes visible themes, theoretical perspectives, connections and the contributions of these intellectuals in the formation of Mozambican social thought, particularly in the field of gender studies.
