Abstract

Feminist struggles as one of the objects of analysis in gender studies have been interpreted through diferente lenses since the end of the 20th century, when the theoretical concern with gender as na analytical category began. Although such mobilizations do not operate homogeneously, hegemonic feminist epistemology still privileges narratives from the global North, which still act in the servisse of colonialism, modern/colonial capitalismo and the coloniality of power, knowledge, being and gender itself. However, against this process, counter-hegemonic matrices have pointed out ways to break with this modern/colonial gender system. Given this, the presente work seeks to demonstrate the potential of decolonial feminist epistemology as an analytical tool for gender relations. To this end, bibliographical research was carried out, based on secondary sources of analysis. It is concluded that decolonial feminist epistemology goes beyond the theoretical restructuring necessary for the field of gender studies, but also as a political practice essential to emancipation in the global South in the face of gender coloniality.
