SEARCHES AND USES OF INFORMATION: A STUDY WITH STUDENTS OF THE ADMINISTRATION COURSE UFPB

Abstract

The searches and uses of information accomplished by Administration’s course students in the Central Library of the Universidade Federal da Paraíba are analyzed. It is a descriptive research, with a quanti-qualitative approach. The sample is constituted by 50 students. The analysis identifies the users’ profile, their search forms and use of information, that feel through formal, informal and supra formal channels of information. It is detected that students have difficulties in the use of the information, as techniques and linguistics. It is ended that are necessary actions, on the part of the library, in the sense of minimizing barriers
