ARCHIVE DIAGNOSIS OF PARAÍBA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA –OSPB

Abstract

We know that in archive, one of its priorities is the organization and conservation of documents. For the orchestras’ archives threre is no difference, because the same performance is fully related to the quality and efficiency of services offered by its files that collect parts and scores. The text discusses archives’ concepts, its historical aspects, purposes and functions, documentary preservation and conservation, classification and organization. Covers the professional Archivist and Orchestra’s archives. Soon after, describes the methodology used in the research, such as the data collection interview. Data analysis concludes that the OSPB’s archive faces problems like the collection rudimentary form of organization, physical structure, employees committed without training in archival science, nor even training courses in the area. It is important to note that this is not just the reality of OSPB but, most orchestras of Brazilian States
