Abstract

The degree of accessibility of Brazilian digital repositories was evaluated. The data were collected on the website of the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT) and analyzed with the AccessMonitor tool. The results showed that Brazilian repositories need to pay more attention to accessibility. The Institutional Electronic Repository of the Federal University of Paraíba was the repository with the highest degree of inclusion and CBPF Index was the one that achieved the worst. It was concluded that the idea that repositories should be open and accessible environments does not correspond with reality. Most Brazilian repositories are not satisfactorily aligned with the Accessibility Guidelines for Web Content (WCAG).
