How is hate speech against Queer people born and spread itself in Brazil?
Abstract
Recently, we observed that there’s a movement of the veiculation of harmful speeches, that has the motivation to urge the discrimination against minorities. This act can be described as “hate speech”. In this work we lead a literature review of a qualitative nature about how hate speech is born and spread itself, in particular against the LGBTQIAPN+ community; where do the reasons to hate those people come from? What are the arguments used, from where they come from? And how? To answer those questions we had to look at concepts like “moral panic” and “misinformation”, at the same time we analyzed some public people known for producing and spreading hate speech, especially against queer people. We also took the time to collect, show and conduct an analysis of some comments made on social media by the followers of the people we introduced early on in the article. By this we want to make explicit what we have written before.
