The objective of this article was to analyze the studies developed on women and careers published in the Web of Science database from 2013 to 2023, totaling 712 articles found. The research is classified as a bibliometric study with a quantitative approach. We also sought to analyze Brazilian production on the topic. The main findings indicate that from 2019 onwards, publications on the topic of women and careers more than doubled. Regarding research fields, Business Economics and Psychology account for 60% of publications during the period. Furthermore, it was identified that the United States was responsible for approximately 41% of publications in the area, with the University of California being the educational institution with the most articles published in the period. Regarding Brazilian publications, it was found that the main topics covered were female careers in sport, gender inequality in leadership positions and specifically in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It was identified that the most prolific national educational institution of the period was the University of São Paulo. Finally, international partnerships were found in 43% of the studies analyzed. For future studies, it is suggested to use other databases, in addition to studying other topics such as career and motherhood, the challenges of re-entering the job market after pregnancy, double working hours, women as entrepreneurs and heads of families, as well as the analysis of public policies regarding salary equity between genders.
