Digital transformation and cultural heritage digitization are analyzed through a comparison between Europeana and the websites of Brazilian memory institutions, such as the National Archive, the National Library, and the National Historical Museum. Employing a qualitative and exploratory approach based on content analysis, the study applies a methodological matrix derived from Europeana's practices to assess the structure and presentation of Brazilian digital collections. The findings indicate that, despite digitization efforts, significant challenges remain regarding platform integration, data standardization, and the promotion of digital object reuse. In contrast to the European model, characterized by innovative and interactive practices, Brazilian institutions are at an initial stage of digital transformation, presenting gaps that limit the full exploitation of the web's potential. The study highlights the need to rethink digitization strategies and public policies to foster a more robust integration of cultural heritage in the digital era, enhancing access and knowledge dissemination.
