INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE FOR THE WORLD WIDE WEB: a study of the portal Administradores.com.br

Abstract

This paper examines the current Information Architecture for Web Portal Administradores.com.br, as the four fundamental principles of Information Architecture for the Web, defined by Rosenfeld e Peter Morville, they are: organization system, navigation system, labeling system and search system. The methodology for this study was developed with samples intentional and accidental samples, with the application of questionnaire on-line containing open and closed variables. For the literature review was carried out research in national scientific journals in the area of Information Science, available at the Portal Capes ( Portal de Periódicos da Capes), as well as books, websites and dissertations, were also used during the review. After collecting the data, they were categorized to simplify analysis and possible discussions on the subject.The results identified that the architecture of the portal Administradores.com.br has serious defects mainly in the navigation system. Through the results, concluded that the need to apply principles of Information Architecture for Web in the Portal Aministradores.com.br be of fundamental importance to expand and facilitate access to information by the public that the User Portal.
