REFLECTIONS ON MANIFESTATIONS OF SILENCE AND SUBJECTIVE PROCESSES IN BIBLIOTHERAPY CIRCLES
Abstract
It proposes an analysis of the manifestation and importance of silence in bibliotherapy practices, an aspect that often causes concern among mediators. It presents bibliotherapy circles as spaces for sensitive listening and dialogue, where literature acts as a mediator for socio-emotional expression. It problematizes silence not as an absence or disinterest, but rather as a legitimate and essential response in the therapeutic-literary path, an interval where the person can finally listen to himself. It aims to understand the forms of coexistence and manifestations of silence in bibliotherapy circles, analyzing the role of those who mediate this process. The research, of a qualitative, exploratory and interpretative nature, uses performative (auto)ethnography as a methodological strategy, based on theoretical-practical experiences of Bibliotherapy circles. It deepens, in the theoretical framework, the idea that silence is a language and gesture of listening and seeks in the contributions of the Person-Centered Approach the understanding of the different types of silence as a form of communication and a condition for authentic encounter. It is concluded that silence, when accepted without judgment, becomes a space for introspection, strengthening the bond and the resignification of the experiences by the participants.
