Abstract

Since its inception, the cinema has been going through many transformations in all its fields, whether in the production process, in distribution and exhibition of movies or in the way they are consumed. In recent years, more and more audio and video capture tools are emerging, others areeasier to handle than they used to be and so cinema opens up to the personal touch and creativity of anyone who wants to venture into this universe. In the meantime, we were able to see the launching of Vine, an application for smartphones in a social network format which allows the creation and sharing ofshort videos, up to six seconds. How are users appropriating this tool to bring back early cinema elements and produce their own microfilm, using basic capture and editing features,is what this study aims to observe.
