This article draws on an experience report from the Popular Legal Advisory (AJP) in the state of Goiás to discuss the potential of AJP in the fight for rights and the importance of bringing the social function of agrarian tenure to the center of discussions in legal proceedings involving repossession against rural social movements. AJP offers the potential to promote grassroots advocacy, human rights education, and legal and political guidance, constituting an innovative tool with enormous potential for securing rights. Proof of this is that, in the case analyzed, it was possible to bring the social function of agrarian tenure to the center of the judicial debate, which is analyzed in its historical and theoretical sense in the final section of the text. In conclusion, we highlight the importance of organic integration between AJP and social movements as a way to enhance the debate on social projects that legal proceedings of this nature provide.
