INFORMATION PROFESSIONAL: aspects of formation, professional performance and marketing for the work market

Abstract

The tripod information, technology and globalization and the changes in the work market demand from the information workers new social functions and professional profiles. Our objective is to highlight, starting from the literature, important aspects related to the librarian's profile, concerning the academic and continuous formation, to the professional performance, to the work market and the professional and personal marketing. We consider that all these aspects will serve to characterize this information professional who needs to be prepared to act in consonance with the current demands of our society.
