Reflects on planning in the context of digital curation. This is a descriptive and qualitative study, which uses bibliographic
and documentary research. As a result, six dimensions were defined that should be explored in the planning and the
elements within them, regardless of the type of digital object to be cured, they were: infrastructure, financial resources,
human resources, actions related to digital preservation, legal and ethical issues and issues related to access and use of
digital objects. Documents were indicated that must be produced during the planning to guide the project teams, such as
the Digital Preservation Plan and, also, the importance of the participation of the target community of the curation project
at this stage was emphasized. Finally, it was found that the descriptions of planning, in most digital curation models, are
still succinct, technical and superficial and may not provide sufficient support for the realization of curatorship planning by
institutions / organizations. It is concluded that it is necessary that information professionals are able to develop materials
to fill this gap and to guide the implementation of digital curation projects.
