PARTNERSHIPS IN THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES TO GUARANTEE THE ACCESS TO INFORMATION BY VISUAL- IMPAIRED INDIVIDUALS
Abstract
Poucos são os indivíduos portadores de alguma deficiência que conseguem superar as grandes barreiras, tais como: preconceito, discriminação e o descaso social - e alcançam a oportunidade de fazer um curso superior. Diante do reduzido número de universitários com deficiência visual (cegos, portadores de visão subnormal), os administradores das instituições de ensino superior, geralmente, não se preocupam em desenvolver projetos voltados para a integração desses estudantes aos diversos serviços disponibilizados para a universidade como um todo.Sendo a educação um direito de todo cidadão e levando-se em conta a existência de um segmento social - os deficientes visuais - muitas vezes esquecido/ignorado, consideramos que há a necessidade de se desenvolver serviços que busquem oferecer as mesmas condições de aprendizagem, no ambiente universitário, para as pessoas portadoras de alguma deficiência.Downloads
