This article aims to provide a comparative analysis between Leibniz's notion of monad and Wittgenstein's notion of substance. The analysis seeks to determine if these notions are similar, that is, if it is possible to say that both authors conceive the constitution of reality in a similar way. From Leibniz's perspective, the author's work remains consistent throughout his philosophical life. Wittgenstein, on the other hand, changed his philosophical perspective during his lifetime. Thus, the comparison with Leibniz remains restricted to the analysis of his book entitled Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, which marks the period of his adherence to logical atomism. Leibniz starts from a metaphysical approach, inspired by the tradition of Greek philosophy and medieval scholasticism. This approach aims to complement what the mechanists established regarding reality. Wittgenstein, on the other hand, has a strictly logical approach, but with a strong metaphysical appeal. Thus, the question is whether the latter is influenced by the former's proposal.
