Abstract

The research deals with Protestant theological strands that critically marked the Latin American Liberation Theology. Among the most outstanding results of the research are those that contribute to the deepening and revision of the Latin American theological method, especially the resizing of language and the valorization of the dimensions of corporeality, sexuality and pleasure. Methodologically, we systematize the questions in a board whose description is organized in two moments. The first of these privileges the contribution of the theologian Rubem Alves, especially with the re-creation of theological language, the theopoetic, and with the valorization of symbolic-poetic and playful elements seen as a translation of the fundamental theological conceptions of faith. The second moment emphasizes Marcella Althaus-Reid's feminist and queer theology, with emphasis on reflections on issues related to gender, everyday life, narratives of alternative lives and the search for inclusive logics and social justice.  The method that the author called "sexual suspicion" is also emphasized, which encompasses the questioning of patriarchal visions, heteronormativity, and other ideological forms of understanding human sexuality.
