Abstract

Given the current scenarios of Brazilian education, it is necessary to reflect on the training and role of teachers. The contrasts and complexities present in society are reflected in the classroom and, therefore, it is up to the agents involved in the school environment to help students develop their capacities and skills. However, in this process, teachers also need to constantly review their educational practice. In this sense, continuing education emerges as a place for the elaboration, re-elaboration and evaluation of the being and doing of teachers. Therefore, our article will present the importance of continuing education for Religious Education teachers, based on the experience carried out in the Salesian Brazil School Network, which reached elementary and high school teachers. Based on this research, we hope to stimulate new continuing education initiatives in the area.
