Abstract

In recent decades, China has experienced significant population growth. Such growth is directly reflected in policies for the distribution of essential resources, especially with regard to food production and distribution. Aware of the challenge and understanding food security as an important part of national development, the Chinese government has made efforts to increase the food supply for its population looking forward to eradicating the historical evil of hunger. Based on an analysis of China's government proposals, it can be seen that this effort permeates not only action strategies at the national level but also actions at the international level. In this sense, based on the assumption that international cooperation is a fundamental part of guaranteeing food security in China, this article analyzes the country's participation in the WTO and ASEAN, in order to respond, through this case study, how China works to promote food security in the context of international organizations.
