PROSPECTS FOR RESEARCH IN MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS IN BRAZIL: AN ANALYSIS OF SCIENTIFIC investigative practices

The article examines the practices of scientific knowledge developed in the field of Operations Management in Brazil. To this end, the theoretical work discusses different approaches that contextualize and problematize the contemporary reality of the universities and the actors who produce them knowledge. In addition, we analyze different ways to understand and classify scientific research, which at the end of the theoretical and conceptual article results in the adoption of a proposed typology for research produced on management in the Brazilian context. The methodological procedures begin with the explanation on how the screening and selection of articles on Production Management, published in national journals relevant, and the criteria for classification of each scientific research on the typology adopted. Finally, we analyze the data, which reveal important challenges of how scientific research Operations Management have been developed in Brazil, resulting from both structural constraints that organize the country's university context, the choices and daily practices as the strategies for research and knowledge production by researchers.Downloads
