Objective: To present a critical reflection on the interrelationship between the notions of theory and practice in the field of administration.
Methodology/approach: From an essayistic perspective drawing on the onto-epistemological orientation of social practice theories, I argue that theory and practice are not opposites but the result of a symbiotic relationship of interdependence.
Academic contributions: I present a critique of the dominant neoliberal vision in the administration field that limits and undermines a broader and more plural understanding of what theory and practice can be and their effects on the understanding of the impact of scientific research means.
Practical contributions: I end the text by inviting us to take more critical and plural positions in researching and writing about it.
