Abstract

Sidgwick fala da relação entre ética e política, debatendo com teóricos de seu tempo. Ética busca determinar o que deve ser feito por indivíduos, enquanto a Política visa à determinação do que o governo de um Estado ou uma sociedade política deve fazer e como deve se constituir, - incluindo, sob a última, todas as questões quanto ao controle sobre o governo que deveriam ser exercidas pelos governados.

Author Biography

Gabriel Almeida Assumpção, UFMG

Bacharel em Psicologia pela UFMG (2010). Foi bolsista de iniciação científica (PROBIC/FAPEMIG) entre 2007 e 2009 (Narcisismo e Modernidade) e entre 2009 e 2010 (crítica da religião em Freud e em Feuerbach). Trabalhou como voluntário no Memorial Padre Vaz de 2012 a 2013 como revisor no processo de transcrição de aulas de Henrique Vaz. Atualmente, é mestrando em Filosofia na linha de História da Filosofia Moderna na Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) e bolsista do CNPQ, dedicando-se aos postulados da razão prática pura em Kant. Tem particular interesse em moral e em estética no idealismo alemão. Os temas de estudo principais são: felicidade; natureza; sumo Bem; história das ideias psicológicas. Outros autores de seu interesse são Schelling, Goethe, Jung, Fichte, Leibniz e Vittorio Hösle.
