REFLECTIONS ABOUT CHILDHOOD AND GENDER FROM PUBLICATIONS IN BRAZILIAN FEMINIST PERIODICS

Abstract

Inquiring the production about childhood in gender studies, it was made a survey of publications about topic in the Revista de Estudos Feministas and Cadernos Pagu in the past 20 years. Were identified 47 studies that addressed childhood under different themes, among which stands out the child in school. Most of the studies were based on research literature and documents. Of the 14 works selected by relying directly with children as research subjects, the majority held ethnography. We realize the interdisciplinary character that marks these studies, despite a predominance of studies in the field of education. Considering the childhood an important moment in the history of the subject constitution in a discussion that seems to be indispensable for feminism.
