FEMINISM AND SOCIAL NETWORKS IN MARCH OF BITCHES* IN BRAZIL
Abstract
Reflecting the intense exchange of ideas, images, texts, and also the spaces of feminist debates on the Internet, this paper aims to think about how the feminist groups have appropriated these spaces as a place for discussion and dissemination of ideas. For this purpose, it aims to analyzing the main political agendas and spaces of organization that motivated and made it possible to organize the March of Bitches in many cities in Brazil in 2012. We aim to discuss the possibilities of organization - especially from the social networks – of the exchanging of ideas about current feminist discussions, as the physical and symbolic violence against women, the criminalization of rape victims, abortion, among other themes. In this way, this text analyzes a historical look to pictures, posters and manifestos that were widely used by participants in the marches, both as a form of debate among feminists from all over Brazil, as any form of dialogue with society.Downloads
