THE CONTRIBUTION OF FEMINIST THEORISTS FOR GENDER
Abstract
This paper discusses some contributions produced by feminist theorists regarding the debate historically built on gender as a category. Focused on the work of authors such as Joan Scott, Linda Nicholson and Judith Butler, this article points out some these theoretical criticisms about the limitations of feminist proposals focused on defining categories such as “Gender” and “Women”. They criticize binary notion of masculine/feminine to expose their theoretical innovations. The topics discussed deal with theoretical, methodological and political issues.Downloads
