As mulheres que não se dão o respeito: representações sobre a vítima de estupro

Abstract

Data show that annually in Brazil police reports are registered for more than 60 thousand cases of rape and rape of the vulnerable and it is estimated that this number is a fraction of the cases that actually occur. The lives of victims of this type of violence are transformed by the abuse and also by the consequences that arise from it. In this study, the perceptions and meanings attributed to a rape victim were investigated, based on the repercussion of a real case on social networks. Content Analysis, the methodological approach used here, showed that the situation of being a victim of rape is constantly questioned due to the facts that occurred, previous behavior, intention and use of alcohol. The interpretation of data was made from gender studies, to understand the configurations present in the phenomenon of sexual violence that lead to blaming the victim.
