Abstract

Our proposal is to analyze the stylistic procedures of the so-called poetic documentary and "no narrative" in the series of short films Rhythms of Work: a poetic visual, directed by Elisa Cabral and Laurita Caldas between 2000 and 2005 that differ from other modes of representation of the real dominantin the Paraiba production whose emphasis is on narrative. These are films that make significant use of the captured images of the real, emphasizing its plasticdimension, shape and color patterns, and giving more attention to the feelings and impressions rather than to a rhetorical or narrative reports about the historical world.
