Os Carmina burana: entre o cântico dos cânticos de Salomão e a cantata de Carl Orff

Abstract

The assemblage of the influences of the biblical poem, Cântico dos Cânticos, on the Goliards’ poems, Carmina Burana, and the interdependence of these poems on Carl Orff’s cantata is the reason of this article. In the first time, it will be demonstrated the preponderance of Cântico dos Cânticos, attributed to Solomon, on the Carmina Burana created by the Goliards. It will be emphasized, however, the use of elements of biblical poem by the Goliards and the news meanings given to them as the ascendancy of Greek and Latin roots ancestry. By last, it will be discussed the appropriation of these poems by Orff. This article will reach its objective when the biblical text, the medieval one and the Carl Orff’s modern text to come together in "celebration of a spirit of a triumph of the human spirit by holistic balance and sexual", as tell us Carl Orff, himself, about his cantata.
