Abstract

The article discusses the impacts of the Covid 19 pandemic on manifestations of intangible cultural heritage, specifically in traditional forms of food preparation and consumption, establishing a comparative perspective between Brazil and Peru, with a closer look at traditional or indigenous communities. The text asks how the current situation of health emergency and contagion mitigation measures imposed by governments would be disrupting the deep roots and codes of social reproduction of practices food and the commensality of traditional or indigenous peoples.
