Abstract

ABSTRACT:

This essay discusses some lines of analysis that converge in the dialog between anthropology and tourism. The intention is to consider the concept of vulnerability as a cross-cutting theme in the different forms of displacement around the planet, especially tourism. Based on some mobility experiences for work purposes, tourism, and their combinations, I propose reflections on tourist vulnerabilities based on some research and analytical repertoires. Finally, I emphasize the need to consider the symbolic dimensions that permeate spatial mobility, highlighting discrimination and social inequalities that are at the root of the concept of vulnerability and equally present in the phenomenon of tourism.
