Abstract

ABSTRACT:
This paper aims to historically analyze the debate about Human Rights in relation to the LGBT community. More specifically, we will present a brief overview of the trajectory of the struggles and the recognition of the UN in order to answer what and which these rights are. However, to provide a better basis for the discussion, we will
also situate the reader on what Human Rights are, contextualizing them today and then delving deeper into the proposed topic. Finally, we will address the depathologization of homosexuality and its decriminalization as foundational steps for the achievement and maintenance of human rights.
