Abstract

ABSTRACT:

The purpose of this literary-political essay is to spark small insights into the historical Black anthropological production based on the work of Antenor Firmin. It is argued that the frequent erasure directed at our productions results in a constant need to repeat ourselves and state the obvious, preventing us from advancing in our discussions. It is important to note that we are not always stating the obvious from common theoretical perspectives, which underscores the collective voice of our claims. The material used to construct this narrative was the bibliography proposed by Professor Dr. Messias Basques in the project “Black Voices in Anthropology”. This is an
initial overview of these works and their contributions, but also a starting point for a
proposal to rethink Anthropology.
