The general aim of this study is to present an analysis of the use of Information and
Communication Technologies (ICT) in school libraries, exploring how these
technologies can facilitate the teaching and learning process. The research was
carried out using a qualitative and descriptive bibliographical approach, reviewing
academic literature published in the last ten years in the Information Science
Database (BRAPCI), resulting in 19 selected studies. The results show that the
implementation of ICT in school libraries enables the creation of more dynamic andinteractive learning environments, promoting interaction between students and
teachers. The research revealed that libraries, when effectively integrated into the
school curriculum and community needs, can play a crucial role in developing critical
and creative skills in students. It also highlights that the adoption of new technologies
reimagines the role of libraries, transforming them from mere book depositories into
educational centers that encourage student autonomy and curiosity. In conclusion,
the study reaffirms the importance of school libraries in training well-informed and
active citizens in the information society, underlining the need for cultural projects that
encourage reading and make libraries vibrant learning spaces.
