El hibridismo estético y cultural de la caja Visagens Nordestinas de Cabruêra (de Paraíba-Brasil)

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the aesthetic and cultural aspects that characterize as hybrid three pictures and three songs of the Cabruêra’s Visagens Nordestinas box set (from Paraíba-Brazil).The box set contains the photo book named Nordeste Desvelado and the CD named Nordeste Oculto and the central themes are religiosity and Northeastern popular culture. There search is exploratory with semiotic analysis as methodology, based on the concepts from semiotician Yuri Lotman. In the songs Padre Cícero, Pena Dourada e Druidas do Agreste and in the pictures related to these musical tracks (named: 1 - Feira de Artesanato da Igreja do Socorro, 2 - Crianças de Tribo Seminômade, and 3 - Joaquim Mulato, Líder do Grupo de Penitentes), the hybridism was observed in the relationship among the visual codes, the sound and the text, the sound of the Indian sitar, the objects, costumes and religious themes,the indigenous elements, all of them permeated by the codes of Northeastern popular culture.
