Abstract

This article analyzes bullying as a determining factor in workplace illness, based on a case study monitored by the Caminhos do Trabalho Project. The research question focuses on how bullying and underreporting of occupational illnesses impact the recognition of workers' rights in Brazil. The objective is to understand how psychological violence in the workplace impacts physical and mental health and how the statistical invisibility of these illnesses contributes to the denial of rights. The methodology combines bibliographic research and case studies, supported by the qualified listening conducted by the project. The results indicate that bullying causes serious psychosocial consequences, such as anxiety and depression, in addition to generating legal and social implications that affect the community. The conclusion is that underreporting of occupational illnesses compromises worker protection, reinforcing the urgency of enforcing legal standards and adopting public policies.
