Abstract

In today’s society, knowledge is a strategic matter. The human factor is seen as a resource and its development is part of the competitive strategy. However, to which extent the exaltation of the human being is not a new means to reproduce capitalism? To which extent knowledge management considers aspects of human integrity and of their complete fulfillment in society? Information and knowledge management understand that knowledge is produced within the individual. Nevertheless, knowledge is seen not as a cyclic and interactive process, but as a linear one, which means that, in the managerial processes, the human factor concept does not allow its emancipation, but consolidates “the object-man”. These reflections will be based on the management models supported by the General Management Theories and their influences on the information management processes and also by the discussion about the production of meaning that takes place in the dynamics of culture. Finally, this paper points out to the emancipation of the worker in the new space cultural identities construction in the organization of work itself.
