THE TEACHING OF LIBRARY SCIENCE AT THE UFPB: QUESTIONS OF SYLLABUS
Abstract
Reconstitui o processo de reformulação do currículo pleno do Curso de Graduação em Biblioteconomia da Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB), com base no currículo mínimo de 1982, estabelecido pela Resolução Nº 08/82 do então Conselho Federal de Educação (CFE). Estuda o contexto que determinou tal reforma e a sua implantação em 1984, mediante o conhecimento do ambiente social e econômico paraibano da década de 80 e de anos posteriores, a documentação sobre a reforma do referido Curso e depoimentos de docentes. Como técnicas de estudo, explora a análise documental e textual e recorre à entrevista semi-estruturada. Conclui que o currículo pleno, implantado a partir dessa reforma, sofreu acréscimos que o tornam mais propício ao comprometimento com a sociedade. No entanto, ao manter o predomínio da abordagem tecnicista, atenua a capacidade do profissional nele formado de atuar de forma mais contextualizada, social e economicamente.Downloads
