This article analyzes the concept of the Sacred in the work of the Spanish philosopher Maria Zambrano, investigating how this dimension articulates with her thought on Poetic Reason. The Sacred is understood as the profound and natural mystery that we feel. However, the obsession of Western thought with wanting to explain and control everything has ended up erasing this mystery or transforming it into rigid and empty concepts, taking away its life and original force. The investigation traces the transition from sacred horror to piety, a fundamental concept that allows human beings to establish a relationship of openness and listening with the mystery. Through dialogue with the mysticism of Saint John of the Cross and the critique of modernity, it is argued that the recovery of the Sacred does not represent a regression to irrationalism, but the overcoming of the crisis of the modern subject, allowing an integration between thinking and feeling.
