Abstract

Objective: To identify the factors associated with user satisfaction with the provision of oral health care in João Pessoa / PB, based on data from the 2nd cycle of external evaluation of the National Program for Improving Access and Quality in Primary Care (PMAQ- AB). Methodology: Information contained in Module III and Module VI of the PMAQ-AB external evaluation instrument was used, analyzing the responses of users who underwent dental consultation with the Oral Health Team (OHT) and had complete data (n = 355). The Chi-square and Fisher's Exact tests (α = 0.05) were used, with “user satisfaction” as the dependent variable. Results: 81.7% (n = 290) of users were satisfied with the services offered and the following factors were associated with satisfaction (p <0.05): being attended in the afternoon; OHT discloses opening hours and this is fixed; the time for dental care to meet the needs of users and they are able to make an appointment with the dentist; the office is a reserved place; the user should always be advised about oral health care; the consultation time is sufficient; the professional making notes in the medical record or record (72.6%); OHT seeks the user when he interrupts the treatment. Conclusion: In the city of João Pessoa, the number of users satisfied with the oral health care offered at the primary level is expressive, being associated with the organizational accessibility of Primary Health Care, the physical characteristics of the unit's environment and the work process of the OHT.
