This bibliography review is a basic, exploratory research with a qualitative approach that aims to analyze the importance of space and the staircase in the writing of “A Escada”, the inaugural short story written by this female writer who only started to explore the universe of letters later in her life. Her writings reflect a spiritual dimension that connects her with her ancestry and with the stories she had heard and read since she was a child. Even with sui generis characteristics in her literary work, Natércia Campos suffered a certain amount of erasure if we compare her with her father, Moreira Campos, and with other female writers who were contemporary to her, but who belonged to the Southeast-South region of the country, being more visible than her and, therefore, being better known and recognized. To address the themes brought here, we relied on fundamental scholars in the area and concluded that this article, together with the others in this dossier, adds efforts to bring to light great writers from the Northeastern scene, but who, by misfortune, were silenced, erased or ostracized by the Brazilian Literary Canon, whether or not they remain in this limbo/in between place. In the case of Natércia Campos, for a short time, but enough to avoid her from rising in her literary trajectory.
