UM ENTRELAÇAMENTO DA LITERATURA COM A PSICANÁLISE

Abstract

This article analyzes the novel Days of Abandonment (2016), by Italian author Elena Ferrante. The psychoanalytic theory is used as a lens that assists in understanding the subjective crisis of the protagonist, triggered by the trauma of love abandonment. The goal is to investigate the role of the main character’s writing, developed by her throughout the novel. It is emphasized that Olga found, in the act of writing, a space for staging her pain, but also anchoring points for her helplessness. The psychic suffering triggered by the abrupt ending of her marriage found, in writing, a resignification of her life story. It is concluded that Elena Ferrante's literary creation, with its fictional language, constructed a narrative of the processes of subjectivation with contributions to the field of Comparative Literature studies, involving literature and psychoanalysis.
